President's Day

I always look forward to President's Day. It is hilarious to hear children's interpretation of their parent's political views. Today I asked my students if they knew who our current president was. One little girl acted almost offended that I would even ask.
In response to my question:

Little girl:
"Obama is our president. And he finds people who have the money... the rich people and he takes it away. So that's why you don't be rich, because he will come and steal it."

Other little girl:
"Well the people shot him in the head and he died."

Me:
"Oh no. That was Abraham Lincoln"

Little boy:
"No. He is still alive, and he shut down my mom's work because it didn't make enough money. Now she just makes $4.00 a day."
